How to become a member of the Grace Church Family

Grace Church is an international church on a mission: as a multi-ethnic community we are devoted to spreading the good news of God's grace in our city. Do you want to engage? Great! We welcome people from all nations and cultural backgrounds to become part of our Grace Church Family!

What does it mean to be a member?

If you've decided you want to be a member of Grace Church, you've probably taken part in our Sundays Worships and/or Life Groups for a while. So we've met, talked and shared our meals. You probably feel like you're a 'friend of the family' already. But if you want to become a member, it's good to get to know each other even better, so that we know what we can expect from each other. After all, being a family, means: commitment.

Our commitment to you

  • We commit ourselves to inviting and encouraging you to grow in discipleship and equipping you to serve God in the world.
  • We commit ourselves to being a transparent and graceful multi-ethnic community, in which you can feel safe and accepted, and which helps you to become all that God has intended you to be.

Our commitment to your family & friends

  • We commit ourselves to being a community of grace that welcomes people from all different cultural backgrounds, so that you may feel able to bring your Christian or non-Christian family or friends along. They're most welcome!

Your commitment to Grace Church

  • As an international mission church, we are devoted to spreading the good news of God's grace in our city. At Grace Church we believe that this missional drive is part of being a disciple of Jesus Christ. We expect you, as a member, to wholeheartedly and actively be involved in this mission.
  • We also expect you to be part of one of our Life Groups, where we share our daily lives, build each other up and encourage each other to live God-pleasing lives.
  • Grace Church is a Reformed church and we expect you to affirm our doctrines of faith, to agree with our vision & mission statement and to accept the spiritual leadership of the church.

Code of conduct

As Grace Church Family we also commit ourselves to the 'code of conduct' of the ICP Network we're part of. We promise each other that this is how we want to live with God, with each other and with others.

How to become a member?

If you've decided you want to be part of the family, you can apply for membership. Please contact your Life Group leader (if you're taking part in a Life Group already), or one of the elders. The elders will then have an interview with you (married and engaged couples are being interviewed together).

If you are a new believer, you'll be invited to our catechism class preparing for membership. In case you have not been baptized yet, this course will also include preparation for baptism.

If you are already a believer and come from another church, you'll be asked to motivate your wish to join Grace Church. In that case you'll need a letter of transfer from your former church.

All new members must follow a membership course about the vision & mission of Grace Church. We do this course a few times a year, so you can join the first next course.

If you are thinking of becoming a member but still have queries, please don't hesitate to contact one of the elders at the Sunday Worship. They are more than willing to make an appointment with you and take time to try to answer your questions.
